Fuel Clinical Drives Rapid Prostate Cancer Study Start-Up Rescue, Achieving FPI Readiness in Under 30 Days
Integrated EDC and Data Management execution helps oncology program avoid months of additional delay
Published: February 2026
TORONTO, February 2026 — Fuel Clinical today announced the successful rescue of a prostate cancer clinical study start-up program facing a significant risk of delay, completing the critical EDC and Data Management work required to make the study First Patient In (FPI)-ready in less than 30 days.
Fuel was brought into the program at a point when the study's timeline was under pressure and the database infrastructure required to begin enrollment was not yet ready.
Working directly with the sponsor, Fuel rapidly assessed the outstanding requirements, established a focused recovery plan and moved the EDC build, validation and Data Management activities onto the study's critical path.
The result was a fully configured and validated EDC environment and an FPI-ready study by mid-December, helping the sponsor avoid an estimated two to three months of additional delay.
This is exactly the kind of situation where speed matters, but only if it is paired with disciplined execution. The objective was not simply to build a database quickly. It was to make sure the study could move forward with the right data structure, validation and Data Management foundation in place.

Fuel continued working with the sponsor following start-up, carrying the data strategy forward through study execution and ultimately delivering 100% of the required study data.
The engagement reflects Fuel Clinical's Unified Intelligence approach — identify the outcome that matters most, understand the barriers preventing the study from reaching it, and bring the right data, biometrics and technology expertise together to solve the problem.
When a study is at risk of losing months, the cost is much greater than time alone. Sites, patients, budgets and development timelines can all be affected. Our job was to understand exactly what stood between the sponsor and FPI and then remove those barriers without creating problems further downstream.
